The Delhi-Born entrepreneur on indulging in her passion for travels, which resulted in the launch of her globally successful luxury travel business.

“Travel is a dream that takes you away from your ‘normal’ life. It’s not the destination that matters, but the journey. The excitement lies in the planning, staying in a ‘dream’ location, visiting ‘buzz-worthy’ locales, meeting interesting new people and immersing yourself in new cultures – all of which lies in the soul of a traveler!”

What inspired you to launch a luxury travel management company that spans the globe?

“As a child and young adult, I travelled with my parents to Europe regularly and stayed in luxury hotels. From an early age I visited museums and places of interest in each city – this eventually became second nature for me. I soon learned how to plan and balance the many elements of holiday travel. I understood the luxury market and knew what people wanted… the attention to detail that is required to make any experience a memorable one. To exceed a client’s expectations is key. My Motto is ‘consider it done!’ The company promoted the concept of serviced apartments, which have since become very popular. This was based on the needs of large Indian families and their particular food requirements. Most of my clients are well travelled and know exactly what they are looking for. To be able to find the right choice for the right client is very important.”

Tell us about MS Tours and Travels Ltd…

“MS Tours and Travels is a Travel Management Company dealing with hotel, apartment, conference and event reservations across the globe. It started as a leisure company in 1997, specializing in serviced apartments in London, Paris, New York etc. I invested a lot of my time in the leisure section and focused on upper scale hotels, resorts, manors and chateaus. The leisure division has an event’s arm that deals with large scale and high profile weddings, birthdays and special occasions cities all over the world, such as Paris, Istanbul, Barcelona, New York and London, to name a few. Two years later, in 1999, I added a corporate division that catered to the needs of corporate clients. This division manages the requirements of mid to large size clients. It manages their regular business travel as well as 20 to 800 people events.”
The key principles for luxury travel concierge services are…

“In the luxury arena, attention to detail and thinking ‘out of the box’ is very important. People want to have a super-exclusive experience. They want to dine with Michelangelo’s David by closing the Academia Gallery off from the public for a private event, experience a cooking class with a Michelin star chef or rent a yacht with an open bottom to watch dolphins swim in Miami. There is no end to extravagant and luxurious travel options.”
The elements of a perfect celebration…

“We have organized many memorable anniversaries, birthdays and weddings. To orchestrate the perfect celebration one must begin with the right venue. Food plays a vital role. Music is key. Getting everyone involved in an activity to break the ice is important. The key is to connect with every guest and to make it a personal experience for him or her.”

What have been some of the more memorable experiences of the journey so far?

“I have loved creating luxe itineraries and experiences for people, as well as hosting exclusive events and watching the marked joy on people’s faces. This journey has taught me to be tolerant and to better understand different cultures… therefore expanding my own personal boundaries. I have also made many friends along the way – suppliers and clients. Lastly, I travel a lot and get to see new and exciting destinations all the time.” (Smiles)

You’ve travelled the globe extensively, which have been some of your favoured destinations?

“Tuscany, for me, has it all. The romance and culture of Florence is seductive. I love to wander in towns with the charm of a different era such as San Gimignano and Siena. Driving through California and just soaking in the sun in Miami are also some of my most favourite things to do.”
Which are your preferred spots in London?

“I’ve made my home in London, Kensington to be exact, with my husband Ishaan and 10-yearold son, Rohan. I’m often spotted walking around Hyde Park, visiting the Tate Modern and eating at Taqueria.”
What’s next?

“I plan to re-brand and re-launch MS Tours and Travels with an exclusive platform called ‘Wow Experiences,’ by which our clients can indulge in a VIP Experience in the select five star plus hotels we are associated with. This will also entail exclusive benefits and experiences for our clients. My second focus is on our events and conferences department in order to create ‘Unforgettable Events.’ All of which will aim at creating perfect memories for our clients on all their special occasions.”
