Camera and its lenses speak more than words could ever express. And that is the reason that when you travel, a camera needs to be carried along with. Popularly known as travel photography, it is rather an underestimated genre as people invest no money into it and it is just the passion to travel that is necessary to capture the pictures of magnificence. The landscapes and wonderful scenic pleasures one gets from travelling and visiting places definitely can never be compared to the picture taken out of it. However, keeping the memory of that moment captured through this brilliant discovery called ‘camera’, is a boon to the human civilization one can say.

With the passage of time, the quality and technical flawlessness of the camera has been improving and becoming better. Today a camera can cost in millions depending upon its different specifications and utilities. A camera may also differ depending on the subject it intends to capture. For portrait, the camera is different and for landscape it’s another, again for wildlife photography the settings would be more diverse and so on. A traveller intending to go to places need to be careful about the settings of his camera for even a little bit of muddle up can cause the photo to turn into a ruckus which is absolutely not intended. The resolution, brightness, sharpness, contrast, saturation level, etc. are only some of the characteristics involved with the output of the photo.

Capturing the places through the lenses of the camera is a passion for the photographer and a want for the regular person. Photographers do it so that they are appreciated for the creativity and effort they put into the making of the picture that final brings the ‘wow’ expression on the faces of the people. On the other hand, a regular person does it to save it as a piece of memory to relish in the later years of life with contentment. Either way, it is a self satisfying deed that gives one the pleasure of capturing nature and places through the medium of lens and bringing it for the pleasure of the people. Turning into the latest wrinkle, the photography craze has spread like a virus and everyone with a DSLR or SLR claims to be a photographer. Well, only the picture of the one behind the camera will speak for him / her and declare whether he/she is a photographer or not. But, apart from that anyone has the freedom to click and doing this is a no harm process creating more memories for one to cherish.

Photography, oh well, a word so common today. And as can be seen, every fifth person you pass by has a camera in his hand aiming at objects or nature or people. And why shouldn’t they? Memories are meant to be treasured in the form of this wonderful invention of photographs. And when you do have the tool, use it to get the best of all captured – nature. Every traveler is a photographer today though the other way round might not be true. Travelling and exploring new places, experiencing new levels, new routes, new dimensions around the world needs to be trapped and that entrapment is done through the lenses.

Intrepid travelers wandering over hills, mountains, below the ocean, through the snow and storm carry this potent tool which recreates the voyage before the others. People with the passion of travelling inherit the passion to photograph as well, for it seems to be a well-tied knot now. With the increasing adoption of the photography skills, the quality of the lenses have been also upgrading to alpine ranges. A photographer can today take picture of a tiny wasp and get the tiniest details of its antennae. Such is the flawlessness of the cameras today which encourages the travelers even more to own this capturing device and move around the world with power.

Travelling to a new city, state or country introduces one to different dimensions of the place such as geography, culture, demography, people, history, etc. and it is through the camera that one can accumulate such rich information and details at the click of a button. Tourist spots of the place which can clearly take the breath away of the person, present itself with so much aura that how can the photographer not capture it? Beautiful places around the world like Rome, London, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Barcelona, Goreme which are to name just a few, have landscapes and stories so rich and vivacious that without a camera, a traveler would not do justice to the place.

Travelers, with photography skills so immaculate do get to present their masterpieces via so many modes today which includes print as well as online. Photography magazines have created that podium for them to flaunt the talent as travelers with their expeditions. These platforms that they deserve and hence get, boost the morales of the travelers even more to go for impending explorations and come back with stories to tell and relive over and over again.
